my second oral presentation :)

ORAL PRESENTATION:

Slide 1:
Hi guys! Let’s get started. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. We are Neus and Marina as you know.

Slide 2:
In this oral presentation we are going to talk about California State, in particular, Los Angeles and San Francisco, futhermore, The Oscars and Hollywood.

Slide 3:
Well…we’ll show you a North American’s map because you don’t get lost. It seems an easy thing to understand but...it’s wrong, because in USA there’re a lot of states, and because of that, there’re soo many cities, districts, etc.

Slide 4:
How many people here like surfing?
If you want to go to California on holidays we recommend you to go to “Nomadsurfers”, because watching this web made a deep impression on us.
At the end of the class, if you want, we’ll show you this surf web.

Slide 5:
In the fifth slide, we’re going to talk about the history of Hollywood, interesting things (precisely: the Oscars and the best films in 2007.)
Hollywood is a district in Los Angeles, California, situated west-northwest of Downtown, Los Angeles. "Hollywood" is often used as a
metonym for the cinema of the United States. It’s a famous people’s city. Why is Hollywood important? Well… Hollywood’s important because in the twenty century New York and New Jersey stared their films in Hollywood because there there were longer days. Moreover, they didn’t have electricity so, as a consequence they needed natural light, and for that, Hollywood was the best option to go.

Slide 6:
Hollywood places are:
·Hollywood Boulevard:
o
Grauman's Chinese Theatre - In this theatre the most famous traits are the autographed cement blocks that reside in the forecourt.
o
Hollywood and Highland – Its center includes the Grauman's Chinese Theatre
. It is an entertainment, shops and hotels, in short, it will be a commercial center.
o
Theatre Kodak- This theatre has been the home of the annual Academy Awards Ceremonies, in other words, The Oscars
.
· Universal City

o
Universal Studios- sometimes called Universal Pictures, Universal City Studios and Universal City Pictures, is a major American motion picture company.

Slide 7:
o
Hollywood Bowl , West Hollywood, The Roxy Theatre and East Hollywood.

Slide 8:
Do you remember the Academy Awards (The Oscars)? Before, Marina told you about that and now we’re going to give you more information. Popularly known as the Oscars, they are presented annually to recognize excellence of professionals in the
film industry, including directors, actors, and writers.
We have chosen few important films in 2007, like…

Slide 9:
o
American Gangster
o The Bourne Ultimatum
o Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
o 28 Weeks Later
o The Oxford murders
o The Simpsons Movie
o I’m a legend

Slide 10:
We absolutely loved “I’m a legend”! It’s a really good film.
mmmm.. What more… the main character is Will Smith, who has won two Oscars: the best actor in “The pursuit of happyness” (en busca de la felicidad) and “Ali”. Do you remember “The fresh prince of Bel-Air” or el principe de Bel-Air in Spanish?
This serie has been very well-knowm around the world. Will Smith was also the main character of that serie. He performed a good character and besides he has been nominated the best character of “The fresh prince of Bel-Air.”

Slide 11:
I'm a legend trailer.

Slide 12:
To finish, we’d like to say something about Chad Michael Murray, because in our opinion he’s the best actor. Nowadays, he is rather valued because he’s good-looking, attractive, sexy, handsome, smart, good actor, intelligent and… don’t forget he’s really muscular! =) well… you can see him in the photo!
So… and for us he’s our platonic love now and ever.
· A little bit about his life is that he was born in
Buffalo, New York in 1981
· In 1999 he went to Hollywood because some brand names (for example:
Sketchers, TommyHilfiger and Gucci
) invited him to be a model.
·You can see his filmography in the slide.

Slide 13:
Nothing more to say.We hope you like our oral presentation.
If there are any questions we’ll be happy to answer them
Thank you for your attention.
